"We admitted we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable." Who cares to admit complete defeat? Admission of powerlessness is the first step in liberation. Relation of humility to sobriety. Mental obsession plus physical allergy. Why must every A.A. hit bottom?

I believe that we amust some kind of bottom in order for us to realize that we no longer control our lives, that the alcohol controls us. I know for me I had to admit defeat in order to get sober. I know today that my life is unmanagable and without my higer power I could not stay sober.

[glow=blue,2,300] [/glow] I don't know about you but I have hitten different bottoms in my sobriety the last one was so dark becasue it was an emotional bottom, spirital one too. Now I am going on the right track. when you hit that kind of bottom you need to realy keep close to AA and people so they can help you.

I agree so much there. I believe that when we hit our "bottom" is when we really start to surrender to this program. Everyone's bottom is different from everyone elses. I know for me personally my bottom took me 5 years to hit after frist walking into the doors of AA. I played around with this program so much that it took a lot for me to finally get and stay sober. I thank my higher power for that botom each and everyday.
