Remember Remember
Remember Remember where you were when you died
Were you down at the local? Maybe locked away inside
Were you loving a lover who you who could not recall
Were you kissing the pavement or pounding a wall
Were you sitting in some place that you had never seen
Were you lying on a Park Bench feeling so unclean
Remember Remember how you felt when you died
That hole so large that had opened up inside,
That despair that you felt because you were way beyond hope
That guilt that made the answer look like a piece of rope
That fear of living, of dying it made you shake it made you hate
That feeling deep down inside that it was all too late
Remember Remember when you found hope
The feeling so good that you might not need the rope
The feeling as the tears started running down your face
The feeling that you were in the right place, but oh the disgrace
The feeling that you wanted what they had but was too scared to ask
The feeling of not knowing if you started that you could complete the task
Remember Remember when you realized you were not alone
That you might just have a chance if you made this place home
That you had to live the twelve steps that hung on the wall
That God would help you if you gave him a call
That relief when you were told it was just for today
That becoming willing would keep the demons away
Remember Remember how to keep yourself that way
You must never forget to ask God for help everyday
You must not leave those twelve steps on the wall
You must not leave what we were given all alone in the hall
You must put one hand out one to hang on for dear life
You must put out the other to the poor fellow in strife
Remember Remember because you are alive
Thank him who gave it to you and continue to strive
Thank him for showing you love, caring and pain
Thank him that you never have to go back again
Thank him for people both spiteful and kind
Thank him for life and peace of mind
